Project Description
|
The Check Point Building houses the office functions necessary to monitor all in-coming and out-going semi-truck traffic, and has restroom and break room space for the truckers. The building is equipped with a 7,000 SF cable-supported vinyl fabric canopy for the protection of the trucks and truckers. The Yard Office serves as the nerve center and public entrance to the entire rail yard complex. The one story portion of the building houses management offices, railroad security, communication and microwave equipment and repair, training rooms, shower/locker/toilet rooms and lunch/break rooms. An attached 3 story control tower monitors all train activity within the railroad complex. Other buildings in the complex are used for the service and repair of railroad cars, locomotives, and trucks. The buildings are constructed of concrete tilt-up panels on a concrete pier supported foundation, metal deck on steel joists, and EPDM ballasted roofing. |
