Project Description

This building houses three different functions. The front 16,000 s.f. contains 50 offices, a training room, restrooms, breakroom and conference rooms. The exterior is clad in two colors of split-face CMU and a metal roof. The entry canopy columns support exposed rough-sawn cedar trusses covered with architectural standing-seam metal roofing. The office section has a metal roof concealed behind a masonry parapet.

Railroad Controls, LTD. builds control gates, lights and other equipment for the railroad industry. This equipment is assembled in the center 44,000 s.f. portion of the building. This is a pre-engineered metal building with metal siding and roofing; a design that permits large spans and high roofs for flexibility in the assembly process. This portion of the building is equipped with a truck dock and a leveler. Two 20'x20' overhead doors provide access to the assembly building.

The third portion of the building, (15,000 s.f.), is constructed just like the center portion, with the pre-engineered frame and metal roof. However, the siding is omitted. This provides a large staging area that is protected from inclement weather, but is open on three sides.
