Project Description
|
The site selected is adjacent to and immediately north of the hospital complex in an old residential neighborhood. In an effort to be sensitive to the residential character of the area, the building’s orientation, landscaping, exterior detailing and finishes were considered as the design developed. The parking lots were configured to save several large trees. The plan has a central prominent entry that allows access to the two main areas of the building: administration to the north and accounting to the south. Common use spaces are shared between the two areas. Each area has separate employee entries and parking lots. The exterior materials include a blended red brick which is prominent in neighborhood historic buildings and the use of limestone split-face block as accents for windows and entry detailing. The main and side entry elements of banded limestone split-face block will contrast against the red brick and reinforce a sense of arrival. |
