Project Description

The Fort Worth Housing Authority renovation consists of remodeling the existing Administration Building, a historic elementary school constructed in 1909 and expanded in 1956.

The old auditorium was converted into a new Multi-Purpose Room for large gatherings, public meetings, staff training, and neighborhood activities.  This conversion included removing the sloped auditorium floor slab and installing a new, level concrete slab.  The existing ceiling, lighting, stage, and proscenium were retained and the existing stage flooring was refinished.  New restrooms, serving kitchen, and entry vestibule were constructed in the rear of the room in order to allow it to function when the rest of the building was closed.

The remodeling of the remainder of the building created a more efficient use of the office space inside and converted the existing Multi-Purpose room into new Admissions Offices and Shelter + Care program offices.
